Kit has been captured by the Rangi and taken to their homeland, where she awaits judgment not only for her crimes but those of her parents. Condemnation will mean death. Acquittal will mean betraying everything—and everyone—she’s ever loved. If Kit is to survive, she’s going to have to become a different person. Again.
This is an excellent young adult series. It has all the aspects that are drawing teens to books – strong female lead, plenty of action, a bit of the paranormal – and it tackles real issues that teens face – belonging, doing what is right, loyalty, them versus us mentality – without being preachy. I love that the series features native people groups. If you are needing a break from the dystopian and fantasy novels, but don’t want to stray too far, then the Windstorm series is perfect for you.
This book is nothing if not full of surprises. It takes everything you thought you knew about this mythical world in the first book and completely turns it on its head. I really enjoyed the shift in setting and perspective, and the fact that who you thought were the bad guys are now the good guys and it’s really unclear who the bad guys are any more. Also a quick, engaging read, finished it in a single sitting.

I love this sequel to Downburst! It is compellingly written; the plot keeping you reading without being able to put it down. Love the characters, settings, and suspense. Can’t wait for book #3!
I could not put it down! The excitement and mystery in it were addicting! I am counting down the days until the next one is released!
I love the style of writing and the intricate details about the tribes. The character development is amazing. I really wish I had savored this book to tide me over until the next one, but I just couldn’t help myself!
Great book! Fresh, Exciting. It has been a lot of fun to read. I’m looking forward to the next book.
Absolutely fantastic! This is a knockout follow up to an already excellent first novel in Katie Robison’s Windstorm series. In this second installment, the world of windwalking opens up and we learn more about Kit as she grows and matures as a character. Coiled Snake is both thrilling and moving from beginning to end, and leaves you wanting more just as Downburst did.
When I read the first book, I was dying for the second book to come out…now that I have read it, I DYING again for the next book. I don’t want to have any spoilers, but I loved learning more about Kit’s family and heritage and I really want to travel to come of the places in the book. There are so many great new characters to get to know…I would just love to see this made into a movie, some of the scenes would be gorgeous and heart-breaking.
GREAT second installment to the Windstorm series. I LOVED the descriptions of the places, just as strong, if not stronger, than the first book. Robison does such a fantastic job weaving reality into her fantasy, makes it seem SOOO real. Anxiously awaiting the third book.
